From 1 July 2016 the new IMO (International Maritime Organization) requirements for weighing and documentation of containers transported by sea will be enforced. Containers lacking documentation, will not be loaded. The shipper must be careful to register the correct weight for full containers loads (called FCL) as well as less than container loads (LCL).
And why should you do this, we and many others wonder.
The reason for weighing all seaborne containers is to prevent maritime accidents and casualties caused by containers with wrong weight.
